This course is designed for intermediate to advanced students looking to elevate their figure drawing skills. Unlike the introductory class, which focuses more on quick sketches, this course emphasizes longer poses, providing students with the opportunity to create fully developed, refined drawings. While key concepts from the "Intro to Figure Drawing" course—such as sight measuring, plumb lines, and landmarks—will continue to be reinforced, new techniques will also be introduced. These include compositional considerations, hatching and contour hatching, as well as a deeper exploration of charcoal pencils and toned paper.

Though prior completion of "Intro to Figure Drawing" is not required, it will be beneficial. A foundational understanding of figure drawing is recommended for those enrolling. As we will be working from live models for the vast majority of the semester, a one time model fee payment will be required at the beginning of the semester and will range from $48-$120, depending on enrollment.
