MARTY 2025: A Night at the Movies

Join Co-chairs Catherine D. Anspon & John Mason Walker, and Tyler L. Hough, for a spectacular evening at Art League Houston’s (ALH) 2025 MARTY: A Night at the Movies! The original Montrose Art Party, MARTY benefits the Healing Art program—now celebrating its 35th year! This year’s theme invites you to dress as your favorite movie character for an unforgettable evening of art, creativity, and community.

This year’s MARTY proudly honors Lester Marks, Houston’s legendary patron, collector, and champion of artists. His 2024 Collection Auction gave back to Healing Art, furthering its mission to empower artists living with chronic illnesses and physical disabilities.

Founded in 1990 by Patrick Palmer, Healing Art provides free weekly art studio sessions led by renowned teaching artists Emily Sloan and Rebecca Bass, as well as visiting artists. Participants receive an array of art supplies, exhibition opportunities, and a supportive creative community—all at no cost.

Exhibitions & Silent Auction

The evening will feature the annual Healing Art exhibition, showcasing works by artists in the program, available for purchase at a Buy It Now price. Additionally, a curated selection of ‘Small-Gem’ artworks will be available through a silent auction. Proceeds from both sales will benefit the artists and support the Healing Art program.
