Transform Lives Through Art

We believe in the power of art to inspire, heal, and connect communities. Your donation of highly appreciated stock can help us continue our mission of fostering creativity and supporting artists, while also providing you with significant financial benefits.

    1. Maximize Your Impact
Donating stock that has appreciated in value allows you to make a more substantial contribution than a cash donation of the same amount. Your generosity can fund exhibitions, workshops, and community programs that uplift and inspire.

    2. Tax Advantages
When you donate appreciated stock, you avoid paying capital gains taxes on the appreciation. This means more of your contribution goes directly to supporting our programs, and you can also claim a charitable deduction on your taxes.

    3. Easy Process
Donating stock is straightforward! We provide you with all the necessary information to ensure a smooth transaction. Our team is here to guide you every step of the way.

    Celebrate Your Generosity

Every donation, big or small, helps us create vibrant spaces for art and culture in our community. As a thank you, we recognize all stock donors in our annual report and upcoming events, celebrating the impact of your generosity.

Make a Lasting Impact with Your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD)

If you’re 73 or older and have an IRA or other retirement account, you know that each year, the IRS requires you to withdraw a minimum amount, known as a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD). What if that money could not only fulfill IRS requirements but also create meaningful change?

    1. Tax Savings: Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) allow you to donate your RMD tax-free. By donating directly from your IRA, you could lower your taxable income, potentially reducing your overall tax bill.

    2. Amplify Your Impact: Every dollar of your RMD goes directly to funding our programs and expanding our outreach. Your generosity helps us make a bigger difference in the lives of those we serve.

    3. It’s Simple: We’re here to guide you through the process and answer any questions. Just contact your IRA administrator, and they can transfer your donation directly to us—no complicated paperwork required.

    1. Contact Your IRA Custodian: Tell them you’d like to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly to Art League Houston

    2. Provide Our Information

    3. Inform Us: Let us know about your gift so we can properly acknowledge your support and ensure your donation goes where it’s needed most.

  • What accounts are eligible for RMD donations?
You can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution from a traditional IRA, SEP IRA, or SIMPLE IRA.

Is there a limit to how much I can donate from my RMD?
Yes, individuals can donate up to $100,000 per year as a Qualified Charitable Distribution. If you file jointly, your spouse may also donate up to $100,000 from their own IRA.
