Descendant Film Screening

  • Houston Museum of African American Culture 4807 Caroline Street Houston, TX, 77004 United States (map)

The Houston Museum of African American Culture in collaboration with Art League Houston presents a screening of the Netflix Documentary "Descendant," about the Slave Ship Clotilda, and the founding of Africatown.

There will be an artist talk immediately following the screening, by artist Letitia Huckaby, whose work in HMAAC's current exhibition, "Negative Women: Four Photographers Questioning Boundaries," is based on her own documentary of the landscape and residents of Africatown.

The screening is Saturday, January 21, at 2PM and will be followed by Huckaby's talk, and a catalog book signing for "Bitter Waters Sweet" in the lobby.
