Art League Houston is thrilled to announce the 74th Annual Gala: LUMINARIES on October 14, 2022, at POST Houston honoring Letitia Huckaby as the 2022 Texas Artist of the Year, Earlie Hudnall, Jr. as the recipient of the biennial 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award in the Visual Arts,
and Melanie Lawson and John Guess, Jr. as the 2022 Texas Patrons of the Year.
Co-chaired by Joi Maria & Matt Probus and Seba Raquel Suber, this year's gala marks ALH's 74th anniversary of connecting the community through diverse, dynamic, and creative experiences that bring people together to see, make, and talk about contemporary visual art. Hosted by Houston’s Poet Laureate, Outspoken Bean, guests will enjoy a festive cocktail reception, elegant three-course dinner, an open bar, a digital art experience by Input/Output, and music by DJ Flash Gordon Parks, accompanied by a spirited art auction with works by local, national, and internationally recognized artists, as well as ALH's engaging live annual award ceremony honoring some of the brightest lights in Texas arts and arts philanthropy. Historically, the gala has served as a major fundraiser for Art League Houston. Proceeds raised from this event provide critical support for our community engagement, exhibition, and public art programs. As one of Houston's oldest non-profit arts organizations, ALH sustains a large ecosystem of distinguished artists who rely on us for support.
