This workshop introduces the basics of multi-layer screenprinting using the photo emulsion stencil process. With hand-drawn imagery & collage techniques, participants will create a 2-layer, color prints on paper. We will focus on gaining a sense of image building through texture, line and color transparency, in order to create an edition of prints. Participants should come with a collection of image ideas, mark making materials, and a readiness to experiment. This workshop emphasizes techniques for creating posters or fine art prints. This workshop will provide a basic understanding of the screenprinting process using photo-emulsion process. Students will learn everything they need to know to screenprinting in their own home/studio. We will learn step by step in stencil preparation, paper-printing options and color techniques. Please note: screenprinting products generously sponsored by Speedball Art Products® and materials provided by the ALH School.
