In this course, students will learn portrait drawing fundamentals. Emphasis will be placed on facial proportions, various views, building a likeness, and more. Half of the class will include drawing from a live model in various dry and wet media. The second half of the course will involve working from photo-reference with precision ink tools like micron pens or crow-quill pens. Optional personal assignments will be suggested throughout the term as well. Learning outcomes include learning to draw the portrait from life and photos and build mileage in numerous drawing mediums.
